Summer Day-Camp Guide Near Eastmark
There are various types of day-camps near the Eastmark area to keep your kids engaged all summer long! Below is a noncomprehensive list of summer camps in the area:
USA Youth Fitness Summer Camp – The USA Youth Fitness Summer Camp is a good way to keep your kids active over summer break. Daily activities in the gym include activities like trampoline, dance, obstacle courses, group games, special guests, and weekly themes. Full-day camps are offered for kids ages 5 to 12 at both their Queen Creek and Gilbert locations. The summer camp runs from May 30 to July 22, Monday through Friday from 9am to 3:30pm, with early drop off and late pick up options available. The cost starts at $65 per day and weekly rates start at $220. Check the website for sign up and availability.
School of Rock – School of Rock’s music camps are offered at the beginning level to intermediate and advanced options. Camp includes performance bootcamps, artist-themed weeks, songwriting, recording, and more. Some of the themes include Pop Legends, Best of the 90’s, and Rock 101. Most of the camps end with a live show at the end of each week. The camp is for children ages 7 to 18 and is open from May 30 to July 29 from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. The cost ranges from $400- $500 per weekly session. Check online for both the Gilbert and Scottsdale locations weekly class themes, availably, and registration.
Nerding STEM Summer Camp – Nerding is offering summer STEM classes held June 6-July 8 located at the Gilbert Eduprize campus on Baseline and Stapely. They offer week-long classes for morning or afternoon sessions, as well as an all-day option. Classes are $195 per weekly class, with morning sessions running from 9am to 12pm and afternoon classes from 1pm to 4pm. Sign up for both sessions to be an all-day attendee, the all-day rate is $390. Classes at this camp are separated into Grades 1-3 (called “Little Nerds) and Grades 4-7 (called “Big Nerds”) and include Dino Discovery, Intro to Coding, Art and Engineering, Robotics, Secrets of Slime, Space Explorers, Use the Force, Zoology, 3D Printing and Design, Weird Science, Graphic Design, and Virtual Reality. Each class promises to be hands-on, interactive, and fun. The Big Nerd classes have regular classroom classes as well as computer lab classes where they will dive more deeply into graphic design, virtual reality, coding games, and 3D printing. Some weeks may even end with a Friday Showcase so the campers can demonstrate what they’ve been learning throughout the week. As You Wish Summer Painting Classes– As You Wish Pottery Painting will be holding weekly instructional classes to paint a piece of pottery. The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 10:30pm in the months of June and July. The cost is only $25 per class, all inclusive, and open to children ages 5 and older. Summer class pottery items include a popcorn bowl, flower mug, unicorn box, cupcake and llama bank, and more fun summer designs! As You Wish locations across the state are participating, with locations in Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Desert Ridge, and Westgate. Check out their website for descriptions of the items each week.
The City of Mesa is also putting on several Summer Youth Activities for different age groups and time frames. Summer Escape All-Day Camps will be offered at 3 sites throughout Mesa at the Jefferson Recreation Center, Eagles Community Center, and Webster Recreation Center. The camps run from May 31 through July 22, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5:30pm. Registration is done weekly so you can customize for summer vacations or other needs. This camp is open to children ages 6 to 12 who will participate in arts and craft time, board games, active games, recreational activities, and guest speakers. Registration is full for the Jefferson Recreation Center, but the other 2 locations have openings. Fees for the full-day camp are $100 for residents and $120 for non-Mesa residents.
The City of Mesa’s Boredom Busters is another option for kids ages 6-12 to get out of the house and interact with arts and crafts, board games, active games, recreational activities, and guest speakers, similar to the all-day camps. These camps are half day, afternoon camps that are held at 6 elementary schools across Mesa and will run from June 7 to July 22 Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 5:30pm. Registration is done weekly as well. Check online for each location’s availability as some locations are full and some have openings remaining.
City of Mesa is also offering an All-Sports-Camp at the Emerson Elementary School where campers will have a chance to play and compete in a variety of active games, develop sport skills, practice teamwork and sportsmanship and participate in some group fitness classes. One time per week, campers will leave the site on a bus to swim. Open to kids ages 8 to 12. The All-Sports Camp runs Monday through Thursday in the afternoons from 1pm to 5:30pm. Sign up for weekly slots online. Fees for half-day camps are $44 for residents and $53 for non-Mesa residents per weekly camp.
My First Camp is offered for preschoolers to stay active and entertained during the summer. It will introduce children ages 3 to 5 to circle time, music, crafts, read aloud, sensory play, and group games. This camp runs from 9:30am to noon and there are still some openings for a couple of the weeks in July at Patterson Elementary School. Resident fees are $34 and $40 for non-resident.
Olympic Camp will be an exciting week in the summer as kids ages 6 to 12 will get to experience 5 different Olympic sports. Each day will feature a new sport to learn the fundamentals and teamwork. All skill levels and abilities are welcome! This camp runs July 25 to July 29 at the Eagles Community Center from 8am to 3pm. Resident fees are $80 and non-residents are $96.
Finally, the City of Mesa is offering Summer Take and Make bags that are designed for children ages 6 to 12. Sign up online to receive a complete camp kit that includes 10 different activities to do at home for just $10. The activities include crafts, experiments, and more!
KTR Classes – in KTR’s Hero Class kids learn the physical, academic, and social skills of being a real hero – combining gymnastics, martial arts, academics, crafts, and games. Attendees can level up and earn achievements as well. Hero Academy is for kids ages 3-10 and classes are 2.5 hours long with 2 classes per week on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. There is a Mini Hero class option as well for kids ages 1.5-3, with a 1.5 hour class 2 days a week. Classes range from $110 to $215 and sibling discounts are available as well.
KTR also offers skateboarding, scootering, and free-running classes from Level 1 Beginner to Level 3 Advanced skills. Classes can be booked for 1-4 hours, and prices range from $96 to $300. Another class option available is Ninja Warrior obstacle course classes that focus on building conditioning, balance, and coordination. These classes usually are an hour long and you can sign up online for more pricing and time information. KTR also offers free trial options on any of these classes for participants to try a skill before committing to the classes.
Nike Soccer Camp – Nike’s Soccer Camp will take place at Rancho Solano Prep School in Scottsdale at their world-class Athletic Complex and Student Activities Center. The camp is a fun skill development camp that will focus on player development. Players will work to master proper fundamentals and techniques and is a great opportunity for players to learn a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience. Campers should bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and water/lunch and included in the camp fee are a Nike Soccer Camp t-shirt and prizes. Instruction takes place on field and indoors to avoid the heat. Camp is for ages 8-14 (grades 3 through 8) and it runs June 13-17 for coed soccer players from 9am to 3pm. Cost is $355.00 for the week. Sign up is still available online.
B.E.S.T. Sports Summer Camp – Beginners Edge Sports Training will be hosting both Full Day and Half Day options of their sports camp for kids ages 3 to 12 in the month of June. In this camp, participants will learn the basics of many sports such as baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, dodge ball, golf, tennis, kick ball, track and field, lacrosse, hockey, and badminton, in addition to fun group activities like relay races, capture the flag, frisbee, 4-square, and more! All campers are split into age-appropriate categories and the camp will be held 100% indoors in the air-conditioning. Session 1 runs June 13-17 and Session 2 runs June 20-24. Full day programs go from 9am to 4pm and half day participants can choose to attend at either 9am-12:30pm or 12:30pm to 4pm. Pricing is $295 for each week for full day and $195 for a week of half day programs, sign up online. The BEST Sports Summer Camp will be held at the Highland Jr. High gymnasium.
