Super Bowl Events Coming to the Valley – 2023

While we don’t know yet who will be playing in the Super Bowl when it comes to town in February, we do have an exciting slate of events coming up to celebrate the Valley’s fourth time hosting the big game.

Super Bowl LVII will be on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The Super Bowl Host Committee has planned a couple weeks’ worth of events fit for family fun and adult adventures.

The first weekend of events will be on February 4 and 5 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Downtown Phoenix. The Super Bowl Experience event will feature games like a football 2-minute drill simulation, field goal kick and Hail Mary challenges, a 40-yard dash, obstacle courses, an NFL Play 60 zone for kids with crafts, a dance floor, and NFL equipment to try on. There will also be replica NFL locker rooms, an autograph stage, and the Super Bowl rings and Vince Lombardi Trophy will be on display. Tickets for a pre-selected time slot are available online for $20 for this first weekend.

This event also runs on the weekend of the Super Bowl, from Thursday, February 9 to Sunday, February 12. Tickets for this weekend are $40 and can be purchased online.

The next event will be the Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday, February 6 at 6:00pm at Footprint Center in Downtown Phoenix. This will officially kick off Super Bowl week as players and coaches of the teams playing will make their first public appearances. This is also the only time the two competing teams will be together in one location prior to Super Bowl Sunday. In addition to hundreds of media interviews with the players and coaches, Opening Night will also have live entertainment, special appearances and autographs by NFL legends and team mascots, and fan photo opportunities. Tickets are on sale now online for $20.

Mesa Arts Center will host the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration on Wednesday, February 8. The inspirational music event will feature an uplifting concert from the gospel and R&B music industry and looks to spread messages of hope and faith.

From Wednesday, February 8 through Sunday, February 12, Old Town Scottsdale is holding the Historic Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate. This debut event is billed as an “Old West-style’ football pre-game party. Much of the ESPN pre-game coverage will happen here, to include NFL Live and Sunday NFL Countdown over the course of the five-day experience. The family-friendly party will also feature tailgate-style games, free tasting opportunities, live entertainment, and swag giveaway items. Admission is free for all ages.

The NFL Honors Awards will be on Thursday, February 9 at Symphony Hall in Downtown Phoenix. This is a prime-time awards special that honors NFL players and staff in specific categories such as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022, Coach of the Year, Best Moment of the Year, and more. Kelly Clarkson will host the awards this year and is the first woman to be the host of the show. The special will air live at 7pm Arizona time on NBC, NFL Network, and Peacock.

Then from Thursday, February 9 to Saturday, February 11, the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest will be held at the Footprint Center in Downtown Phoenix. This 3-day festival will showcase several musical acts per day starting at 7pm. On February 9 Paramore will play with a special guest, February 10 includes Dave Matthews Band and DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak), and February 11 features Imagine Dragons and Kane Brown. Tickets are on sale for each night of the musical festival online.

Also spanning over the entire Super Bowl weekend of February 9 through 12 is the Super Bowl Experience by Lowes at Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix. This family-friendly event is FREE and will have tons of games and activities, live music, entertainment, and local cuisine. On Thursday and Friday, the park will be open from 2pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 10pm, and Super Bowl Sunday from 11am to 9pm. Musical acts for this event include Jimmy Eat World, Lee Brice, and an official Super Bowl watch party on the largest LED screens in Arizona.

On Friday, February 10 there are 2 events. The first is the Off the Field NFL Players Wives’ Charity Fashion Show. While more details are forthcoming on this event, it is scheduled to take place at Scottsdale Fashion Square from 1pm to 4pm.

Then that same evening starting at 6pm, the FanDuel Party at Tempe Beach Park will feature a performance by The Killers, plus Superstar Showdowns where celebrities and NFL legends will compete head-to-head in various sports games, and food trucks. Tickets are given away through the FanDuel website and more details can be found online. This event is for adults 21 and older.

The Taste of the NFL event will be held on Saturday, February 11 at Chateau Lux in Phoenix from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The event is hosted by premier culinary stars Andrew Zimmern, Carla Hall, Tim Love, Lasheeda Perry, and Mark Bucher and will also feature NFL guests. You’ll be able to taste national and regional food specialties and beverages while mingling with NFL players and celebrity guests. Tickets are available online and proceeds will benefit school nutrition programs in Arizona and elsewhere via GENYOUth’s End Student Hunger fund.

Other adults only events include the Shaquille O’Neal hosted Shaq’s Fun House on the evening of Friday, February 10, Rob Gronkowski’s Gronk Beach day party on Saturday from 12pm to 6pm, and the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl Party on February 11 at 9pm. Each of these events will be hosted at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale and include several live musical performances by well known artists. Tickets are available online on the event websites.

There are lots of opportunities to get out in the Valley and experience the excitement of being the host city of the Super Bowl!
